FMVSS 210 shows that seat belt safety really begins at the seat belt anchorage points. Double, even triple check the strength and construction and quality of the seat belt anchorage points. Would you buy a car where you had to BOLT pieces together to protect you and your family? Or mount a seat and seat belt anchorages to a piece of tin in the bed of your Rhino... NO! One piece construction is paramount for your safety and it proves stronger. The U.S. department of transportation requires seat belt anchorages to be tested. The FMVSS 210 testing procedures require anchorages to hold from 3000 to 5000 pounds (depending on the style of the belt). It is proven that wearing seat belts save lives by keeping occupants in the vehicle. You have a much better chance of survival if you stay with the vehicle rather than your seat ripping right out of your bed or your anchorages tearing from flimsy construction.
